  • Cut the flower stems and any foliage before adding them to a water-filled vase, it facilitates in the absorption of nutrients and prevention of bacterial growth.
  • Add two tablespoons sugar in your water-filled vase to provide nourishment to flower. Soda can also be used.
  • Add apple cider vinegar or Vodka or copper pennies to your vase, as they prevent bacterial growth and decay.
  • Change the water of the vase regularly. Sugar and other preservatives also need to be added again.
  • Instead of water, Florist Gel can also be used to elongate the life of flowers. Florist Gel comes in the form of a gel and also beads or pellets. It contains nutrients and anti-bacteria, which is why it’s widely used by florists as well.
